Both of these paintings are from a group of works that fall under the title LOT415, taken from the address of the demolished and vacant lot in which the paintings were made. Over the past year, I’ve used this location and materials from surrounding areas as both sites and sources. These ‘inverted rubbings’ are made on overpainted billboards which have been reinscribed with the image of the cracked foundations of this defunct industrial site.
